Catherine O´Riordan

Head of Environment & Planning – Gippsland Dawn OWP

As Head of Environment and Planning, Catherine leads the environmental assessment and approvals workstreams of the Gippsland Dawn Offshore Wind Farm Project. She is responsible for the project management of the offshore and onshore environmental impact assessment and approvals required under Commonwealth and State legislation.

Catherine brings over 20 years of experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, specializing in environmental planning, land use, and securing project approvals. With a strong background in both the renewable energy and infrastructure industries, Catherine has developed extensive expertise in impact assessments, regulatory approvals, and the delivery of complex projects across the Asia-Pacific region.

Before joining BlueFloat Energy, Catherine worked within the Australian renewable energy sector, initially as a developer for onshore wind and solar projects. In 2020, she transitioned to the offshore wind sector, where she has since played a role in advancing offshore wind projects.

Catherine holds a Master’s degree in Coastal Conservation and Management from the University of Glamorgan, Wales; a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from University College Cork, Ireland; and a Certificate in Maritime Studies from the University of Tasmania, Australia.
