As CEO of BlueFloat Energy, Carlos is responsible for defining the company’s strategy, ensuring its timely execution and managing relationships with the key strategic partners. In his role, Carlos aspires to support his team in achieving the company’s business objectives while thriving in an exciting working environment with the highest levels of work ethics.
Carlos has worked in the energy sector for more than 15 years. As Project Director at EDP Renewables (EDPR) based in Madrid, he was responsible for overseeing the development of the WindFloat Atlantic project, a 25 megawatt floating wind project off the coast of Portugal. This innovative project was the first floating wind project to secure a bank financing structure and successfully achieved FID in 2017.
Before joining EDPR, Carlos worked for eight years at McKinsey & Company in the energy practice leading projects in a variety of areas including growth strategy, procurement, operational excellence, M&A, IPO, and others.
Prior to founding BlueFloat Energy, he was General Manager, Europe and Asia at Prosegur.
Carlos is an Adjunct Professor of Strategy at IE Business School in Madrid. He holds an MBA from Insead and a MSc. in Civil Engineering from ENPC (Paris) and UPM (Madrid).
