Glen Hsieh

Country Manager – Taiwan

As Country Manager, Glen is responsible for BlueFloat Energy in Taiwan, leading the development of offshore wind projects from site screening through to Final Investment Decision and beyond. Glen manages site selection, consenting, development planning, and establishes and maintains relationships with strategic partners and key local stakeholders.

Glen has been working in energy sector for more than 10 years.

Before joining BlueFloat Energy, Glen was the Director of Business Development of Taiya Renewable Energy (Taiya) where he led and managed M&A process, CPPA and project financing activities. He helped to initiate and execute the partnership strategy of project HuanYang (a joint venture between Taiya and EDF Renewables) to develop the first French-Taiwanese offshore wind project. Furthermore, he successfully forged the partnership between Taiya and BW Ideol on numerous floating projects in Taiwan for the upcoming round 3 auctions. He also managed the CPPA activities to ensure timely delivery of sufficient offtakers’ engagement and the alignment with banks prior to bid submission.

Prior to Taiya, he first led the development team in New Green Power (NGP, a solar developer and EPC owned by BlackRock), which is now managing and developing over 1GW of solar assets in Taiwan. After NGP, Glen joined Enercon, a German wind turbine manufacturer, where he was in charge of overseeing sales activities in South-East Asia including Taiwan, Philippines and Vietnam.

Glen holds a BSc in Economics from National Taiwan University (Taiwan).
