Raymund Pascual, Philippines Country Manager at BlueFloat Energy, spoke last week at the Philippine Onshore Offshore Wind Energy and Storage Summit 2024, a two-day conference organised by BUiM Group that took place in Sheraton Manila Bay in Manila, Philippines.
Raymund discussed the topic “Delving Deep into the Offshore Wind Sector: Status in the Philippines and the Missing Pillars to Accelerate Offshore Wind Development in the Region.” During his session, he shared insights regarding critical factors such as transmission capacity, ports, infrastructure constraints and supply chain, which need to be addressed in order to deploy offshore wind in the Philippines. Raymund concluded on a positive note saying that he was optimistic about the prospects of the sector in this country and promised that “We will collaborate to find solutions to these challenges”.
BlueFloat Energy has been championing the deployment of floating offshore wind in the Philippines, strategically focusing on four development zones in Luzon: Cagayan/Ilocos, Southern Mindoro, Bataan, and Batangas.
