“There is no floating offshore wind without ports,” highlighted Daniel González recently at the 20th edition of the Technical Conferences organized by the Committee of Young Professionals of ATPYC, the Spanish section of PIANC, at the Bilbao Port Authority. This event, related to the coastal and port world, was sponsored this year by BlueFloat Energy.

Daniel González presented “The Key Role of Ports in the Supply Chain for Floating Offshore Wind,” emphasizing the need for specific port facilities for the construction and assembly of floating platforms, turbine integration, logistics ports, O&M bases, and the subsequent dismantling of wind farms. Daniel also highlighted the importance of a robust and efficient supply chain, and how collaboration among all stakeholders is essential for the industry’s success. Furthermore, he stressed the positive impact on local development, creating jobs and boosting regional economies.

As a global leader in floating offshore wind, we are pleased to contribute to this forum and look forward to further advancing the development of this crucial industry.
