We are excited to have participated for the second time in a row in the Australia Wind Energy 2024 Conference, the largest wind energy conference and exhibition in Australia, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Nick Sankey, Country Manager Australia at BlueFloat Energy, joined the Opening Panel ‘Considerations for Entering Australia’s Wind Industry – An International Investor’s Perspective’ at the Unlocking Wind Capital Summit. Nick shared, “The offshore wind industry in Australia is a unique opportunity to bring global expertise to a new market with reliable policy settings, a clear pathway for transitioning away from fossil fuels and growing electricity demand. These projects will not only build a new industry in Australia, but also local jobs, regional investment and domestic capacity building.”

Deb Neumann, Head of Environment & Planning Australia at BlueFloat Energy, participated in the panel ‘Synergies between Wind and Environmental Consents’ at the Strategic Summit. Deb emphasized, “Offshore wind will deliver significant benefits from a net zero perspective, but we also need to make sure these projects adequately meet strict standards to protect the environment and biodiversity. We will need to conduct several years of studies to understand the marine and terrestrial environment, and design our projects in a way that does not interrupt these ecosystems.”

BlueFloat Energy Australia is at the forefront of the offshorewind industry in Australia. Our projects in Victoria and New South Wales are key to the nation’s energy transition, driving decarbonization and regional economic growth. We remain committed to consulting and collaborating with local communities, including Traditional Owners, fishers, and regional stakeholders, to ensure our projects are developed sustainably and beneficially for all.

Looking forward to the upcoming updates from Pierre-Antoine Tetard, our Chief Commercial Officer and Executive VP APAC at BlueFloat Energy, who will be visiting Australia next week as part of his executive trip to some of our key APAC markets. Pierre-Antoine will meet the BlueFloat Energy Australia team as well as key stakeholders, including the Victorian government’s Offshore Wind Energy Victoria (OWEV) and the Port of Hastings facility.
