AERO, the Italian association for the development of offshore wind energy co-founded by BlueFloat Energy, hosted today an event at the Deputies Chamber in Rome titled “Energia dal mare: il potenziale nazionale per lo sviluppo sostenibile delle rinnovabili offshore” (Offshore energy: The National Potential for Sustainable Offshore Renewables Development).
After a fruitful year of activity, AERO brought together institutional, political, business, environmental, and fishing associations for a day of debate.
- Can offshore wind be an ally of the environment and the energy transition?
- What is missing for the Italian system to build a value chain and create an energy production network that will enable us to achieve European decarbonisation goals?
These pressing questions were at the heart of the discussions.
Italy and its Mediterranean coast, have the potential to position as strategic infrastructural hub for renewable energies, creating new jobs in southern Italy and fostering the rebirth of a sustainable economy.
At BlueFloat Energy, we are committed to driving the growth of offshore wind energy and supporting Italy in achieving its renewable energy targets. The recently approved FER2 decree is a significant step forward, and through collaborative efforts with AERO and industry leaders, we are ready to tackle the challenges ahead and harness the power of the wind off the Italian coasts for a decarbonized future.
