Deb Neumann

Head of Environment & Planning - Australia

As the Head of Environment & Planning, Deb is responsible for the impact assessment and approval workstream for the projects in the Australian portfolio.

Prior to joining BlueFloat, Deb spent almost 20 years working for global engineering companies, in delivering planning, environmental and land use advice and approvals across the utilities sector. She specialises in complex projects which require approval under multiple legislations and which require open and transparent consultation and multidisciplinary management and reporting.

Deb started her career as a town planner and has been delivering major infrastructure including transmission lines, terminal stations, wind and solar farms for government and the private sectors in green and brown field environment in rural and metropolitan environments. Deb has worked across the full lifecycle of these projects, from project feasibility and site identification permitting and approvals process, post construction auditing and operations and maintenance. She is an innovative thinker who enjoys the challenge of developing risk based, solutions for projects. Deb specialises in projects which require open and transparent consultation and multidisciplinary management and reporting.

Deb has recognised skills in managing agency and community stakeholders. She also has well developed regulator relationships and is highly aware of the need to balance the competing demands of the community. She has a clear understanding of the factors which require consideration in decision making and the appropriate planning and environmental conditions from a perspective, which will help projects be supported by government, agencies and the communities.
