As Health & Safety Manager for the UK Projects and part of the broader BlueFloat Energy | Renantis Partnership team, Ewan is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the health and safety strategy across the portfolio of sites. Ewan will work closely with all required teams across the project lifecycle to maximize HSE performance and drive execution of the management system, creating a high-performing safety culture within the project teams.
Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Ewan spent the previous 8 years in the Energy from Waste sector where he helped build the HSE management system on various new build plants managing this from construction, through commissioning and on to eventual full operation. Throughout this employment, Ewan has built a strong working knowledge of the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and has valuable experience in building and sustaining a world class safety culture within an organization through coaching and training, driving down both accidents and incidents on all aspects of HSE.
Ewan is a Technical member of the Institute of Health and Safety (IOSH) and is currently working on his personal development towards chartered status. He holds various pieces of health and safety certification including a NEBOSH certificate in HSE Leadership Excellence and holds a post graduate diploma (PGDip) in Waste & Clean Technologies to go alongside his bachelor’s degree (BEng) in Chemical Engineering, the former of which he was awarded the coveted Court Medal for the best results across his peer group.
Being new to the offshore wind industry, the skills and experience learned in his discipline from a different industry are highly transferrable and will be put to work immediately to drive the HSE performance across the BlueFloat | Renantis Partnership alongside the Head of HSEQ.
