As Grid Assessment Analyst at BlueFloat Energy, Irene is supporting project development activities in the existing and new markets by analyzing network characteristics, opportunities, and constraints. She assists the Director of Grid Connection and Electrical Works in the overall delivery of the electrical strategy across all phases of the projects. She is also responsible for tracking the interconnection procedures for offshore wind projects in different markets.
Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Irene worked as Grid Connection Engineer for renewable energy projects in the UK and US markets. She was responsible of managing the grid access of those projects as well as analyzing the best and most feasible connection points.
She has always been passionate about environmentally-friendly and sustainable energies and technologies, and particularly interested in the electrical network and systems that contribute to their development. Before starting her career as grid connection engineer, she gained more than 3 years of experience working as technical engineer in railway electrification projects and in the design of a Spallation Neutron Source under construction in Lund, Sweden.
Irene holds a Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering and a Master’s degree in Materials Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), as well as a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy in Electrical Systems from Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M).
