As Technical Project Manager at BlueFloat Energy, Jonathan supports our project development activities in a number of markets, managing technical aspects of the projects, with a focus on supply chain engagement, coordination of technical consultants and external providers.
Jonathan brings more than 15 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with a strong international profile, having been worked extensively in countries like Mexico, Spain and Japan. Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, he worked as a Senior Consultant and Project Manager at an international consulting firm and was involved in giga-scale onshore wind farms for multi-disciplinary projects.
Before that, Jonathan worked for more than four years in Japan in roles such as business development and permitting manager. He negotiated more than 250MW of solar PV EPC contracts, including the coordination of the technical and economic requirements with other departments. He also contributed to the origination of several new projects until ready-to-build stage, including all the required permits, and the evaluation of risks and economic feasibility. He was in charge of building relationships with customers and partners, and analyzing new business areas such as floating solar, agri-solar, and hydrogen. Jonathan was also involved in the techno-commercial assessment and coordination of early-stage offshore wind projects in Japan.
Previously, Jonathan worked for twelve years as a nuclear engineer leading the nuclear engineering activities of several BWR European plants. He also developed containment models for several nuclear plants, including the identification and ranking of the uncertainties in the containment building analysis and the impact of the heat transfer structures and the emergency cooling systems into them.
Jonathan holds a BSc in Mining Engineering in Energy and Combustible from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, an Executive Master’s degree in Renewable Energies from the EOI Business School, and a Master in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the IMF Business School.
