Head of Partnerships and M&A
As Head of Partnerships and M&A, Luca has the global responsibility for establishing new partnerships to co-develop offshore wind projects as well as for executing M&A transactions to optimise BlueFloat Energy’s portfolio and grow its economic value. He leads processes and negotiations working closely with regional local teams, corporate functions, and external advisors, and interfaces with BlueFloat Energy’s management and shareholders.
Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Luca worked for 13 years at the international energy major Equinor (formerly Statoil) where he held several roles in finance, strategy, business development and M&A based in Norway and in the UK. In the early years of his career, he gained experience in upstream oil & gas and LNG businesses working on investment analyses, regional strategies, acquisitions and divestments. Since 2018 he has been contributing to the energy transition journey of Equinor by taking responsibility for origination and execution of transactions in the renewable energy business globally, which involved evaluation and management of offshore wind asset deals as well as corporate M&A opportunities (both private and publicly listed targets). Notably, Luca led the Equinor team in the “farm-down” (sale of equity stake) in Dogger Bank A, B and C projects in the UK, which will reach 3.6 GW of offshore wind capacity installed, running the process jointly with partner SSE and in parallel to the project debt financing activities.
Luca holds a BSc in Business Administration and a MSc in International Management from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. In addition, he completed the CEMS Master in International Management with studies in Denmark at Copenhagen Business School and internships in Germany.
