Power System Analyst
As Power System Analyst, Santiago is primarily focused on supporting activities related to offshore wind farm design, power park controllers, SCADA systems, and communications. His main responsibilities include: assisting in the configuration of the corporate Power Park Controller and overall control philosophy (SCADA), providing support in documenting technical specifications and evaluating control capabilities and grid support functions for wind farm connection to the grid, contributing to the the parametrization of Power Plant Controllers, helping in conducting grid integration studies to verify proper dimensioning and grid code compliance of the Power Park Controllers, etc.
Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Santiago has gained valuable experience as an intern within the offshore wind energy and IT sectors. He worked on the development, implementation, and maintenance of electrical optimization algorithms and models for offshore wind power plants.
Santiago also has experience in designing low and medium voltage electrical systems, communication networks, and lighting systems for residential and industrial sectors as an Electrical Design Engineer.
Santiago holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería Julio Garavito and he is in the final stages of a Master’s in Smart Energy, focusing on renewable energy and the digitalization of the energy sector from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
