Last Tuesday, at the forum “La Energía que Viene”, organized by ECONOMÍA DIGITAL DE GALICIA SL in Santiago de Compostela, Ainhoa Villar Lejarreta, Business Development Manager at BlueFloat Energy, represented the Joint Venture formed by BlueFloat Energy, Plenitude, and Sener, promoters of the Nordés Wind Farm, in a key discussion about the future of renewable energy in Galicia.
During her participation in the roundtable dedicated to addressing the challenges and opportunities of the new renewable energy model for Galicia, Ainhoa highlighted:
The need for clear tender calendars that provide certainty and visibility, along with a robust economic framework to mitigate the risks associated with the long periods between the awarding of contracts and commercial operation, as well as throughout the project’s lifespan.
The importance of electrical grids and their expansion, especially along coastal areas, to integrate more renewable energy and meet the demands of emerging green industries.
As Ainhoa pointed out: “A close and transparent approach is essential, one that explains our proposals and integrates the needs of the region. Much of the success of the first tender in Spain will depend on how the socio-economic criteria are defined.”
With exceptional offshore wind resources, world-class ports, and a strong local industry, Galicia is poised to lead the energy transition. At BlueFloat Energy, together with our partners Plenitude and Sener, we are promoting projects like the Nordés Wind Farm, which will cover approximately 13% of Galicia’s current electricity consumption, fostering quality employment and industrial modernization in the region.
The event also featured the participation of the Regional Minister of Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana Somoza, who closed the forum by sharing her vision of Galicia’s energy future.
