Raymund Pascual, our Country Manager in the Philippines, passed away on the 21st of April leaving behind a legacy of dedication, leadership, and love that will be deeply cherished by all who had the privilege of working with him.
Raymund has played a pivotal role in driving the development of offshore wind in the Philippines and has emerged as a vocal and ardent champion of this industry in the country, demonstrating a strong leadership, unwavering commitment and strategic vision over the last two years. Raymund has been very passionate about the opportunity that offshore wind represents for the future social and economic developments in the Philippines and has made it his personal mission to unlock this opportunity.
Raymund was one of the architects and founders of POWER (Pilipinas Offshore Wind Energy Resource), the dedicated offshore wind industry organization launched in December 2023. He was elected the President of this association and has dedicated a lot of energy and effort to making this pioneering initiative a success.
Raymund has developed a diverse and impressive career spanning different sectors over the course of his life. He graduated from Mapua Institute of Technology (now Mapua University) with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering. After working for a few years after graduation, he went to De La Salle University to get his MBA. Subsequently, he completed the Executive Development Program of Schneider Electric at Singapore Management University (SMU) in 2016.
Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Raymund served as Managing Director for the Philippines at the Holdings Company of a Hybrid Microgrid RE Developer based in New York, Enernet Global. In his role, he was responsible for developing and managing an ecosystem of partners and to originate and develop projects in the country. He built the local team in the Philippines and established presence in key regions with focus on off-grid areas.
Previously, from 2015 to 2017, he served as Country Head of Strategy and Business Development at Schneider Electric Philippines. He also served as a CEO at Electro-Systems, a systems integrator company for three years. Moreover, he was a member of Leadership Team/Management Operating Committee of 3M in the Philippines from 2007 to 2010 after having served a term as Sout-East Asia Regional Head of 3M Telecom Systems Division from 2003 to 2007.
Raymund has definitely proven to be the best ambassador BlueFloat Energy could have in the Philippines and a remarkable mentor for his team, embodying our values of dedication, integrity, and innovation. His impact extended beyond the professional sphere as he was deeply beloved by his team and the company. As we reflect on his legacy, we recall the sentiments expressed by his colleagues during the tribute we held with our global team. They spoke of Raymund’s selflessness, compassion, and encouragement. He always prioritized others, consistently offering support and radiating a warm smile. He served as a constant source of positivity and inspiration, and he will be dearly missed by all of us.
We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the many colleagues who worked closely with him not only at BlueFloat Energy but also at his previous tenures.
Raymund is survived by his loving wife, Tes, and three children (Eubel, Franco, and Toni).
