As we bid farewell to 2023, I would like to reflect on a remarkable year with BlueFloat Energy.

I am proud to look back on a year filled with numerous accomplishments and shared successes, which contribute to BlueFloat Energy ´s incredible journey:

⚡ Milestones Achieved:

1. The BlueFloat Energy | Nadara Partnership signed Exclusivity Agreements with Crown Estate Scotland for the development of our Sinclair and Scaraben innovation projects following successful bidding in the INTOG (Innovation and Targeted Oil & Gas) leasing round. These projects elevate our portfolio of projects in the UK to 3.3GW of gross capacity.
2. We achieved approval from the preliminary Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) panel for our Winds of September floating offshore wind project in Taiwan. This makes our project the second floating project to achieve such an important milestone in the country.
3. We submitted a Feasibility License application for our Greater Gippsland (Fixed-bottom, Victoria) and Eastern Rise (Floating, NSW) projects in Australia, the latter in partnership with Origin Energy – the leading energy player in Australia.
4. We started monitoring works by deploying Floating LiDARs in 8 our project’s sites in UK, Italy, Spain and Taiwan.
5. We completed Geophysical survey work on our ScotWind projects, Broadshore and Bellrock and extended the Campaign to include our ‘INTOG’ Innovation projects, Sinclair & Scaraben. We also conducted ground investigation works in Odra and Kailia in Italy and Tarahal in Spain.
6. Our Dream Team hit 131 colleagues, with 44.3% being women and 55.7% men. They represent 21 different nationalities and work globally to drive progress in our approximately 33 GW global portfolio, which spans 37 projects across 10 countries!

🚀 New Markets: We announced our market entry into Portugal in April and in The Philippines in June.

🔗 New Strategic Alliances:

1. We established a strong partnership with Greenvolt Group to unlock the potential of floating offshore wind in Portugal.
2. Also, we have recently signed a partnership with Origin Energy to develop the Eastern Rise Offshore Wind Project in the declared Hunter offshore wind zone, in Australia.
3. BlueFloat Energy is among the founding members – and the sole developer – of the Offshore Coalition for Energy and Nature – Mediterranean Sea (Med OCEaN),  which aims to cooperate for a sustainable deployment of offshore wind projects and grid, while safeguarding nature and healthy marine ecosystems in the Mediterranean region.
4. This year saw the launch as well of #AERO, the Italian Association of Offshore Renewable Energies, with BlueFloat Energy as a founding member; and #POWER, the Philippine-based Offshore wind industry organization has just been born, under Raymund Pascual´s, our Country Manager for the Philippines, Presidency.

🏢New Headquarters: We kicked off the year by inaugurating our new headquarters in the heart of Madrid—a vibrant and spacious workplace designed for creativity, connection, collaboration, and celebration! In addition, we opened a new office in London and later in the year, we opened BlueFloat Energy | Nadara Partnership‘s office in Edinburgh under the honourable presence of Scotland’s Minister for Energy and the Environment, Gillian Martin MSP!

🌐 Global Impact: BlueFloat Energy’s influence has transcended borders. Our projects have not only shaped the cross-border energy landscape but have also contributed to the global conversation on renewable energy and climate resilience. We had the privilege of speaking at more than 182 events this year! 🎙

🏆 BlueFloat Energy won the Highly Commended prize in the Offshore Wind Developer of the Year award category at the Wind Investment Awards 2023. And I am proud to have been featured in Tamarindo‘s 2023 Wind Power List for the second consecutive year!
