As Senior Legal Counsel (Partnerships and M&A), Ciaran leads the legal aspects of BlueFloat Energy’s global Partnerships and M&A efforts. Ciaran is responsible for leading the establishment, negotiation and implementation of new partnerships as well as for executing M&A transactions from the legal perspective.
Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Ciaran worked at Pinsent Masons LLP for over 10 years as a Corporate Senior Associate, specialising in renewable energy M&A. During his time at Pinsent Masons, Ciaran worked across three different jurisdictions (Ireland, England and Australia). He has developed in-depth sectoral and technical expertise leading on a variety of complex, high-value, multi-jurisdictional renewable energy transactions across a whole spectrum of technologies. As the lead M&A counsel for negotiating and implementing corporate transactions, Ciaran has successfully managed complex processes to achieve his stakeholders’ strategic goals. Ciaran led on the completion of transactions for notable clients such as Ørsted, bp, BayWa, Engie, Foresight Group and EDF.
Ciaran holds an LLB in Law from Queen’s University, Belfast and a post-graduate diploma from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Queen’s University, Belfast. In addition, Ciaran studied Business Administration at Cabrini College in the United States and holds a certificate in American Business from the British Counsel.
