Stromar Wind Project is thrilled to have hosted and sponsored the Welcome drinks reception last Tuesday´s evening to kick-start Floating Offshore Wind 2023 event organized by Scottish Renewables.
The evening was filled with influential political figures and industry leaders from the global offshore wind sector. Such gatherings pave the way for impactful discussions and collaborations, furthering our mission to propel the future of floating wind in Scotland.
Having been born in Banff and raised in Gardenstown, Nick Ritchie, Senior Development Director for Stromar Wind, delivered a speech during the reception where he shared his personal connection to the local community. He updated the audience on the development of Stromar Wind, a 1GW floating wind project off the coast of Wick, which is a collaborative effort involving Renantis, BlueFloat Energy, and Ørsted. Nick highlighted the importance of investment and collaboration in offshore wind as projects like Stromar will deliver renewable energy, job creation, economic growth, energy security, environmental benefits, community engagement, and technological advancements, collectively benefiting the region’s sustainable development. Additionally, he emphasized Scotland’s history of innovation and pioneering contributions to the wind farm sector.
